The biggest news in her life was her arrest in 2021. On August 1, 2021, she was arrested in Virginia on one charge of incest, after a phone call and some messages leaked online in late July. Police said they had received information about a crime against a family member. The charge involved her mother, Barbara, who was reported to have memory problems.
She was first held at Henrico County Jail and then moved to Central Virginia Regional Jail. In February 2022, she was sent to Western State Hospital, a mental health hospital, because she was found not able to stand trial at that time. She came back to the jail in May 2022. Her lawyer, David Heilberg, said that mental health problems played a part in her story and asked people not to believe everything posted online.
